sanctioned trial needs VOLUNTEERS!
APRIL 16 & 17
Asotin County Wingshooters
(so you know exactly where!)
This is a neat opportunity to participate in the NSTRA NW
Region’s sanctioned trial circuit – we need
timekeepers, scorers, runners, bird “baggers,”
judge “handlers,” water bearers, horse holders,
breakfast-lunch & dinner line helpers, maintenance crew
members, and so forth beginning Friday April 15 through Sunday April 17.
Please come and help –

This
is our club’s annual
“fundraiser.” In previous years the club
has made more than $1000 during a weekend sponsoring this
event. As the saying goes, “many hands make light
work.”
What's Newsworthy?
Winter, or the time between fall and spring turkey seasons, has passed
with alarming speed! All the projects I expected to
accomplish indoors, because the weather’s too harsh to be
outdoors, are still sitting on our “to-do” table at
this house – how about you?
The SRSGDA has hosted two trials and a dinner so far this year, and is
looking at a full calendar of great events – just waiting for
you and your dog. In addition, the Spokane Bird Dog Club
(SBDC), has issued an invitation to SRSGDA members to participate in a
June FUN HUNT (a flyer is included in this mailing). This
event is styled a bit differently from our own fun trials and looks
like a great deal of fun. In the fall, the SBDC and SRSGDA
hope to have a “challenge” fun trial between the
two clubs.
We now have three different hunting preserve locations counted among
our members: Asotin County Wingshooters, Hatwai Hills, and
Little Canyon. Consider getting out and visiting one or all
of these sites. This gives you a chance to expose your dogs
to different birds and terrain in a controlled setting.
Further, a few of our members have guiding opportunities arise out of
contacts made at the shooting preserves.
If you recall, last issue included a couple of articles from members
– please feel free to send in your ideas, articles, pictures,
advertisements, and comments.
Classifieds
Dick Chapman has English
Pointers available for sale to “approved” (loving)
family hunting homes. A telephone call and visit with Dick
gives one an opportunity to see some of the best hunting and trialing
pointer bloodlines in young pups and older dogs. A number of
the dogs are fully “finished” gun dogs; a few are
super breeding stock; and of course, there are the fabulous
“pups” with the exact same breeding as Wacko the
Backhoe, Tanner the Terrific, Tippy the Tremendous, and
Kenya-“I love to win”-Kinyon. …wiggles,
wags, and a lot of energy ready for the right placement! For
specifics, please contact Dick 208-743-5548 or email
chaps@syringa.net.
Also, for sale, are three (3) WAG-AG electronic remote control bird
release traps as well as a “backing pop-up”
dog. For specifics, please contact Dick 208-743-5548 or email
chaps@syringa.net.
SAY…do you notice this blank space?????
Advertising rates for this space are the best in town…
Let us know if you have puppies for sale, are looking for a
new dog, or a new collar, or a horse, or . . .

STILL In search of:
A roving reporter, or six, to provide salient and scintillating sagas
of SRSGDA members’ adventures in training, trialing, and
traipsing a-field (hunting)…I guess we could also include
trap! Any thoughts are appreciated; pictures are nice; can be in
final form or just simply “blurbs” to be edited.
PLEASE send to SRSGDA Secretary Nance Ceccarelli via USPS or
