Fun Run – Doc KramerThe Shea Meadows Fun Run was a great meeting of friends and good
weather. The meadow was not as wet as it has been in previous years. High clouds kept the sunburn to a
minimum. The dog training took place
against a background of green grass and blue flowering Camas. Before the session begun Doc’s yearling EP “Sweet Tippy” swept
the field and surrounding forest of dew and ticks. Mountain blue birds and swallows used the shorthaired dogs and
sweet smelling Dick Chapman as
mosquito bait. Chairperson Robert
Uhrich and family organized
the location, bird procurement and flagging.
The continued hospitality of
the Martin Stout family’s was
appreciated. Thanks to Tom Medley’s expert flight
conditioning the corturnx quail were better flyers than some expected. Unfortunately that same flight
conditioning did not spill over to our long tongue, hand planting, bird planters
Ed Johnson, Mark George, Terry Quinn
and Robert Uhrich. Again Jerry Thiessen’s
12 month old EP, “Tanner”, took the Derby dog ribbon. Don’t be too proud Jerry, its all in the
breeder selecting the correct right sire and with a sire’s name like Elvis
how could “Tanner” go wrong. Welcome to our new club
member, Ike Todd. Ike is a graduating high school senior
from Gallatin Gate Way, Montana who last year took his GWHP, “Rose”, all the
way to NSTR national s. Science Diet’s gifts were appreciated. The trial netted $64.50. Results A-Field Place Brace Score Owner Breed Name Owner Breed Name 1st A-4 (695) M. George GSP Dobber I.

SRGDSA sponsored a round of sporting clays May 5 at Pheasant Valley Sporting
Clays, near LaCrosse, Washington.
Four shooters attended the event.
The weather was great for this event, sunshine and blue skies, but
high winds kept the temperature pleasant and the targets challenging. Pheasant Valley has some neat
presentations in a scenic setting. If
you would like more information or want to schedule a round the phone number
of Pheasant Valley is (509) 549-3912. Web SiteThere
is a temporary prototype web site for the club located at: http://www.baas.uidaho.edu/tquinn/gundogclub |
